SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory recently signed an agreement that will allow the facility to continue operating in its current location for an additional 33 years. The agreement was signed by representatives from Stanford University and the Department of Energy.
“SLAC is a tremendous resource for Stanford, and over the nest 33 years, I anticipate that the research facilitated by SLAC will have a transformative impact on our society,” said Leslie Hume, chair of Stanford’s Board of Trustees.
The original contract was first signed in 1962.
