Cryofab, Inc. recently announced the planned installation of more than 400 solar panels at its manufacturing and design facility in Kenilworth, NJ. The installation, due for completion at the end of 2010, is just one in a series of environmentally conscious improvements that are taking place at Cryofab.
Some of the recent improvements include the installation of thermal pane windows (to increase energy efficiency), and the continuation of a recycling program for waste metals such as steel, stainless steel, copper and brass. Oil and cardboard are also included in the recycling program. Additionally, Cryofab has made an effort to eliminate chlorinated solvents and switch to more eco-friendly aqueous types of solvents.
For the future, the company is planning to increase its use of solar energy and has started looking into high-efficiency lighting and even wood recycling.
