The Council on Superconductivity of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) awards for 2013 were presented at the 23rd International Conference on Magnet Technology (MT-23) in Boston and at the 2013 International Superconductor Electronics Conference (ISEC 2013) in Cambridge MA. Following are this year’s winners:
IEEE Award for Continuing and Significant Contributions to the Field of Applied Superconductivity (in the area of electronic applications): Prof. Vasili K. Semenov, Department of Physics and Astronomy, Stony Brook University.
IEEE Award for Continuing and Significant Contributions in the Field of Applied Superconductivity (in the area of large scale applications): Dr. Joseph V. Minervini, Plasma Sciences and Fusion Center, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
IEEE Award for Continuing and Significant Contributions in the Field of Applied Superconductivity (in the area of large scale applications): Prof. Herman H. J. ten Kate, Extraordinary Professor of Industrial Applications of Superconductivity, Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Twente, ATLAS Magnet System Project, CERN.
IEEE Max Swerdlow Award for Sustained Service to the Applied Superconductivity Community: Dr. Robert Aymar, Senior Scientific Advisor to the Administrator-General, CEA.
