Master Bond announces new one component epoxy

Master Bond on October 13 unveiled a new single part adhesive sealant for use in a variety of applications in aerospace, electronic, optical, specialty OEM and related industries. The Master Bond Supreme 10HTF-1 offers cryogenic serviceability from 4K to +400°F and resists an array of chemicals such as water, fuels, acids, bases and many solvents.

The Supreme 10HTF-1, says Master Bond, delivers impressive physical strength values for tensile lap shear, tensile and T-peel of greater than 3,200 psi, 6,500-7,500 psi and 20-25 pli, respectively. The system bonds to a wide variety of substrates, including metals, composites, glass, ceramics, rubbers and many plastics. It has very low shrinkage upon curing, is dimensionally stable and has a Shore D hardness of above 70. The Supreme 10 HTF-1 is also capable of withstanding rigorous thermal cycling as well as mechanical shock and vibration.

At room temperature, the epoxy has an “unlimited” working life and cures rapidly at elevated temperatures. A typical cure schedule for Supreme 10HTF-1 is five to ten minutes at 300°F, 15 to 20 minutes at 250°F, or 60 to 90 minutes at 200°F, according to Master Bond.

The compound is yellow-tan, but other colors are available in standard packaging ranging from ½ pint to 5 gallon containers as well as specialty packaging including cartridges and syringes.
