Cryo-Ops 2020, the 9th edition of the International Workshop on Cryogenic Operations, will be held in Grenoble, France, from November 2 to 4, 2020. This event is organized by the Département des Systèmes Basses Températures (DSBT), a joint research unit of French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) and Université Grenoble-Alpes. The workshop will take place at the Institut Néel campus located in the world-class scientific GIANT (Grenoble Innovation for Advanced New Technologies) campus.
The Cryo-Ops Workshop provides a periodic forum for research laboratories and industry to present and discuss current technological advancements, operability and maintenance experience of large cryogenic systems with the purpose of supporting the physics research community and industrial producers. Topics will include the latest practical engineering, safety and operational management applications and techniques to enhance reliability and flexibility and to reduce operating costs.
Cryo-Ops 2020 will be an interactive workshop alternating presentations and visits:
-Specific sessions on operation and maintenance, control and simulation, safety and regulation, energy efficiency, commissioning and new technologies
-Visits to academic and industrial laboratories such as the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility, the Laboratoire National des Champs Magnétiques Intenses, Air Liquide Advanced Technologies (CSA CSM) and CEA labs.
Founded at Jefferson Lab in 2004, following an initiative of US Physics research laboratories, the International Workshop on Cryogenic Operations became the responsibility of the Cryo-Ops International Committee. This conference has been organized at SLAC, CERN, TRIUMF, KEK, STFC Daresbury, , Fermilab and IHEP-CAS.
More than 100 participants are expected to participate in this new edition in Grenoble. The organizing, scientific and international committees look forward to meeting attendees face-to-face.
